MORE ABOUT THE NAMELESS WORLD...
The Nameless World is the first book in an upcoming series (The Nameless World Series). The story takes 11-year-old Noah Wright (an introverted boy who is often bullied at school) on an unexpected adventure when he accidentally opens a portal and is transported to another world...
The book offers two story lines: It begins and ends with Noah's struggle in the real world as he faces bullying, deals with the loss of his father and the challenges of being poor. Though not the main focus of the greater story, the book touches upon the bullying epidemic thousands of kids face each and every day in schools (as well as the consequences of making poor choices when dealing with this issue). This is a very important topic that kids need to understand. The Nameless World offers parents and teachers the opportunity to open discussion on this subject while exploring Noah's situation.
Then, through Noah's adventures in the nameless world, the book dives deeper into environmental awareness/concern as Noah discovers the importance of standing up for what is right as he witnesses first hand the delicate balance between man and nature. The core plot has a very relevant theme of environmental awareness and ecological preservation - something that can have a positive impact on today’s "go green" efforts. It also promotes respect and appreciation for animals. It is so important for kids today to recognize that we have a responsibility to preserve and protect nature and natural resources. This book conveys this message through a memorable story to which kids can relate.
Both issues presented in the book are very important areas that kids need to gain insight and understanding to make better decisions for their own actions and choices. While The Nameless World is very much about Noah's exciting adventures, the story is presented in a way that kids can learn a little about themselves and the world around them while reading.

MORE ABOUT A NEW BATTLE...
Similar to the first book, A New Battle touches upon the very sensitive subject of bullying... only in this story, Noah is on the other side! While still the hero readers grew to love in The Nameless World, Noah finds himself in a sticky situation when a new girl at school is the victim of bullying from Noah's new group of friends. Noah struggles with the notion of being thought of as a bully himself, but is afraid of losing his friends if he speaks out against their behavior.
The theme of bullying is carried through the book, even after Noah returns to the nameless world. He is shocked and disheartened to see that "even in a world so beautiful and enchanting, there [are] still beings rotten enough to pick on things that [can’t] defend themselves." It is through one very special character (Buddy) that Noah is forced to deal with many social issues upon his return to the nameless world, not just bullying (of which Buddy is very much a victim at the hand of his peers). The story also brings elements of discrimination into light through Buddy's character (though an outcast among his own kind, Buddy is still looked at with prejudice and assumption by other creatures, too, simply because of what he is). Buddy is such a unique character to the story, because (on top of everything else that makes him so special) he is also deaf and deformed. But, true to the tone of these stories, even an underdog like Buddy can prove to be a loyal friend and a true hero.
A New Battle is sure to delight readers of all ages, offering an amazing adventure that presents valuable social lessons that kids must face every day. It opens the door for teachers, parents and kids to discuss these issues through the eyes of the characters in the book.
